December came in with sixty degree days and I remember thinking I was not appreciated them as much as I should. The last few days have been bitterly cold and I have already given in to wishing for spring.
It is supposed to be 55 tomorrow, so I’m going to try to do a thorough winter clean out of the coop. I should have done it earlier, before the 19 degree mornings, but I do dumb things.
I am trying to plan my summer garden, but as usual my eyes are bigger than they should be. I am editing down and trying to focus – no corn, no squash, only a few tomato plants. Lots of onions and shallots and garlic, more strawberries, watermelon, and hot peppers. Tons of herbs. And of course the new blueberries, blackberries, and grapes. Much of the focus this year is actually towards patience for 2020 when these plants hopefully start producing.
